Merlindale Nature Festival

SBCAN and Southern Uplands Partnership were delighted to attend the Merlindale Nature Festival on 2 August. We had a stall along with many other nature and conservation bodies and what a beautiful event! The sun was shining and lots of people of all ages came out to celebrate nature and biodiversity in the Tweed valley.

Organised by the Borders Meadows Trust at Merlindale near Drumelzier, the route to the festival site took festival goers through wildflower meadows along the Tweed.

The festival featured demonstrations of scything in the meadows and there was a varied programme of music, storytelling, workshops and talks. The highlight for many though, was simply spending a sunny afternoon in a glorious hay meadow; what could be better than that?
