Borders act for change!

New Round of funding launching November 2 2025!

What is it?

We are encouraging schools, groups and organisations to take action in the month of February to make a positive impact here in the Scottish Borders and beyond!

You might challenge yourselves to a litter pick, a morning of tree planting, undertaking a biodiversity survey, volunteering in a green space, or organising a film screening of an environmental film.

We can provide seed funding of up to £500 to help your group take action in February 2026!

How did it come about?

At the Youth Green Summit in September 2024, young people expressed a desire to take meaningful climate action within their own communities whilst connecting with other groups across the Scottish Borders. Borders Act for Change supports this vision by facilitating decentralised but coordinated climate action across the region.

In February 2025, 65 organisations and over 3500 people took part in Borders Act for Change. This year, we have increased the funding available to a maximum of £500 per group (first come, first served!). Will you join us, and thousands of others, and take action on the climate this February?
