As the climate changes, How can we adapt our places to work better for everyone?

Have you identified actions linked to the environment, active travel, energy upgrades, green spaces, community food, emergency resilience teams or flood prevention within your community’s place plan?

💡 What SBCAN Offer

  • We are offering to work with a place -team interested in being supported to develop any action linked to the above in their community.

  • So far, we have worked with Jedburgh and Peebles place-teams, facilitating group sessions using Verture's Climate Adaptation Route map Community Climate Adaptation Routemap - Adaptation Scotland.

  • The session focusses upon identifying achievable adaptation actions within each town’s place plan.

  • Following the group sessions, we have offered funding of up to £2000 to help each place team take the first steps towards delivering the mitigation action identified by them in the session.

  • We would like to work with further place teams in 2026-7.
