Berwickshire Marine Reserve: Ocean and Carbon Literacy Programme Facilitation

Berwickshire Marine Reserve received funding in March 2024 from SBCAN to allow the facilitation of their online learning programme on Ocean and Carbon Literacy in schools across Berwickshire.

They worked with with Duns and Eyemouth Primary Schools delivering a four week block of learning with each class (primary 5 Duns/ primary 7 Eyemouth). In total they delivered 16 sessions to a total of 89 children.

The response was overwhelmingly positive, with the children engaged and enthusiastic about the subject. This project has also strengthened their links with these two Primary Schools and they hope to continue to work with them in 2025.
