Active Travel Forum: May 2025

Our second active Travel Forum this year was held on 22nd May at SBC Business Centre, SBC HQ Newtown St Boswells.

Following a short update from Denise Brydon- Senior Active Travel and Access Officer on SBC’s new Active Travel Strategy, we welcomed Lena Hutton from SOSE who gave a overview of the support they can offer the sector, followed by questions. We then heard from Marina Piper- Project Manager at Destination Tweed who gave an update on the Tweed Trail with questions from the group.

Denise Carmichael of Borders Wheels and Walk it, then led the group in a walking session.

Finally projects updates from members present were shared with opportunities for collaboration.

The next meeting is scheduled for August and will be focused on the draft Active Travel Strategy.
