Join Connecting Threads at the Eastgate Theatre in Peebles for a screening of Rave On for the Avon, a tender documentary directed by Charlotte Sawyer about a community of wild swimmers in Bristol fighting to save their beloved bathing spot, affected by raw sewage pollution of the river Avon.
Stay for a post-screening discussion with open water swim coach and botanist Ingrid Campbell of Tweed River Wilding, and Elaine Rainey from Guardians of Our Rivers, a community project monitoring the health of freshwater habitats.
This event will be followed by a workshop celebrating the River Tweed on Sunday 3 May, bookable separately on their website. Make flying fish flag-puppets, walk down to the Tweed, and take part in an optional community wild swim.
